Torah Shelaima – Lighting Up Our Community!

The Kollelim

Rabbi Michael Ghermezian, a distinguished Torah scholar, founded an elite Kollel in Monsey, NY, by inviting accomplished Talmidei Chachamim from renowned Yeshivot in Eretz Yisroel. Since its inception close to a decade ago, this initiative became the core of Torah Shelaima, a movement that is transforming Jewish communities across the region. To further its impact, additional Torah Shelaima branches were established in Riverdale, Roslyn, and Monsey, NY. Nearly 80 Yungeleit now dedicate their days to advanced Torah study and teaching, enriching the communities they serve.

The Outreach Center – J Lounge

Many Jewish families in the Roslyn community, through no fault of their own, were not exposed to the beauty of a Torah lifestyle, leaving many children and teens at risk of losing their Jewish heritage. Torah Shelaima’s mission is to reconnect these individuals with their roots. In response, the J Lounge, a teen outreach center, was established across from the local public school in Roslyn, NY. Offering lectures, basketball leagues, food, and a welcoming environment, the center has successfully engaged hundreds of teens and young professionals, many who never before experienced the taste of Shabbat, Tefillin, and kosher observance. Parents have expressed deep appreciation for the program, which has enriched their children’s lives and brought positive changes into their homes.

Learning Groups – Bonim U’Bonim

Torah Shelaima has established 11th and 12th grade Learning Groups, Bonim U’Bonim, offering an engaging opportunity for teens to connect with the holy Torah and strengthen their Jewish identity. There are currently 12 branches across the region, reaching over 200 young Neshamot from our communities. These 30-minute learning sessions help students feel linked to the unbroken chain of Jewish tradition that extends back to Mt. Sinai. In addition to the learning, the program includes trips that foster healthy social interactions and a strong sense of belonging within the Jewish community. Torah Shelaima’s efforts have helped many teens develop self-confidence and leadership skills, while also having a profound impact on hundreds of families who are reconnecting with a Torah lifestyle through these meaningful experiences.
